What Are Dermal Fillers?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance within the body that is found in the deep layers of the skin called the dermis, one of its functions is to keep skin smooth and healthy by helping to retain water. As the years go by the dermis begins to lose the youthful elements of elastin, collagen, and hyaluronic acid. Elastin makes the skin flexible, allowing it to stay firm and resist wrinkle formation, as it starts to lessen our skin becomes lax and less firm.
Collagen provides the support system and as production slows down the skin begins to sag and collapse into wrinkles. These age-related changes result in the visible signs of aging: lines and wrinkles deepen, lips lose their fullness, lines appear around the mouth and nose area and the under eyes, temples, and cheeks lose volume giving them a sunken and hollow appearance.
Dermal fillers are a safe and versatile non-surgical anti-aging injectable treatment that can reinforce the underlying structures of the face to help restore loss of volume, improve skin health, contour and define facial features and treat fine lines, wrinkles, and folds. Dermal filler can lift the cheeks, temples, eyebrows, and forehead as well as enhance the nose, chin, and jawline.
At Beauty Beat Clinic, we use only registered fillers in the UK market, because of their proven safety profile, their efficacy, and long-lasting results. These dermal fillers are temporary, completely resorbable, breaking down over a period of months with no by-products.

Dermal Filler FAQs
Following your consultation and assessment and when you are happy to proceed, the actual treatment session will typically take about 30 minutes, however, this will be dependent on the treatment that you are having. The consultation and assessment process is one hour.
The dermal fillers we use have a strong safety record, are FDA approved, and regulated by the Medicines & Health Regulatory Authority (MHRA) in the UK. At your consultation, your practitioner will discuss all risks associated with your treatment plan so you can make an informed decision.
The most common side effects are temporary redness and swelling or bruising. In rare cases the filler may form lumps under the skin which may need to be treated with medication or an infection could develop that requires medical intervention. In rare cases the injection of a dermal filler may block a blood vessel which if untreated could lead to skin damage, scarring, blindness or cerebral embolism. This reinforces why it is crucial that only a healthcare professional carries out Medical Aesthetic treatments.
Most patients will experience minimum downtime and will continue their daily activities as normal, however on occasions some patients may experience redness at the injection sites but this normally resolves within 1 – 2 hours, any swelling or bruising can take longer to resolve. It is recommended that no makeup is applied for 12 hours after your procedure. Written aftercare instructions will always be given after a procedure and as well as a 24-hour emergency contact number.
The aesthetic results are immediate. The longevity of the treatment will depend on the individual patient and the area treated and the product injected, however, clinical data demonstrate results and visible improvements can last between 6 and 18 months.
